Tubal Ligation

Alternatively, Dr. Frieden can perform a tubal ligation ("having your tubes tied"). This procedure requires:

• An operating room at a surgery center
• General Anesthesia, intubated
• 2 small cuts to abdomen
• Tubes are "cut and burned" (not "tied") OR the tubes can be removed entirely, depending on your insurance coverage
• 2-3 days minimum recovery time away from work
• Rarely any costs to you for the procedure, depending on your insurance plan
